As Tamarack's sales representative I had the great honour of working with Daryle in Jackson Trails, Stittsville closely for many years. As well as being a very good man who adored his family, Daryle was an amazing site supervisor who treated his clients, his trades, his staff, his Company and I with the utmost respect. Daryle greeted everyone with a great big smile ...He was blessed to possess a very happy friendly nature. We all so liked him..Daryle always represented Tamarack with such dedication, loyalty and professionalism..he loved what he did. He cared.

I really enjoyed playing in Arnprior for the Packers and seeing guys like Daryle always brightening the mood around the rink.
I still remember being welcomed into the rink on the first day of tryout camp by Daryle. He made everyone smile and brought good times along wherever he went.

We are deeply sorry for the loss of Daryle.
It is unbelieve that this good man is gone at such a young age.
Some fond memories we have are the rink in your backyard where the kids had a blast and fishing derbys on the Ottawa River where he often took the prize for the largest fish.
Having drinks/laughs at Lori & Pat's was fun too!
You could tell from his stories and how much time he spent with all of you that he was a very proud dad.

My sincere condolences to Maureen, to Daryle's dear children, to his brothers, sisters and extended family.
Daryle Meek was and always will be a much cherished childhood friend to me. We sat three feet from each other for much of our elementary school days. Every fun and goofy memory I have of him and with him brings a smile to my face. We laughed until it hurt our sides. We said things that were insanely silly. We said things that had great meaning also... as meaningful as children can be. He copied my homework. The teacher knew I had given it to him and Daryle laughed his head off as she proceeded to praise the virtue of his amazing work in front of the class... which she knew was my work... and so did he... and I thought he was going to faint from laughing.
When my mom passed away (Daryle and I were 8 years old then), and I was finally sent back to school after being absent for a few weeks, a mob of kids ran toward me as I tried to enter the school gate at Braeside Public School. They never got to me. Daryle was waiting. He pushed them back and ordered them away from me, put his arm around me and walked me into the school. Even at that age, Daryle was a shining example of humanity at its finest.
We got in trouble together in kindergarten at the infamous Alexander Reid Braeside kid kindergarten paint fight and we got transferred to Walter Zadow... so we were pals really early. He tortured me with really bad singing (Johnny Cash... the egg sucking dog). I don't have a single bad memory of him.
And I'm so sorry. He has left too soon and there's a hole that will never be filled without him there. We would bump into each other and it was like time had not passed at all. What an amazing man and a good friend and a person who had waters running deeper than he often let on.... just like his dad before him, who also used to tell me deep things because he had been best friends with an uncle of mine who was killed in WWII.
Godspeed, Daryle. I miss you... come and sing off key to me in my dreams. I will always always consider you my friend and.. we will meet again.
