Stew was a wonderful man, and it has been an honour to be part of his family the past twenty years or so. From the moment we met, he would have done anything for me. He was sweet and caring, patient, always funny of course, but also a strong and smart man - characteristics he passed on to his sons and grandsons. I suspect he will be equally remembered for his huge heart and his outstanding pranks.

No man could better exemplify the the characteristics of a good man than my grandfather. He was a singular soul in this world, a world which will forever be diminished by his passing. Ever the prankster, ever the compassionate heart, he loved and respected all whom he met, and sought only to better the lives of those around him. I will forever miss the man who taught me what it is to be a man.
