Obituary of Harold Remus

(Retired Sandvik Steel, Arnprior)

 

Peacefully at The Grove Nursing Home, Arnprior on Monday morning, August 20, 2018 following a lengthy journey through dementia; Harold went home to his Heavenly Father. He was 89. He leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend of over 68 years, Doris (nee Kauffeldt). He was the son of the late Fred and Annie Remus. Survived by his children: Roger (Vickie), Bonnie Kehoe (Keith), Duane (Jenn), all of McNab-Braeside and Leon (Jill) of Revelstoke, B.C.; his brother, Wilbert (late Madeleine) of Cobden ; 12 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his brothers: Wilfred (late Florence), Eddie (late Bea) and sisters: Louise Kauffeldt (late Basil) Edith Welk (late Francis) and Mildred Rhode (late Dennis). Also predeceased by his grandson, Joshua. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and close friends. The family received friends during visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Wednesday evening, August 22 from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning, August 23 from 9:45 to 10:45. A Tribute to Harold took place in the Pilon Family Chapel on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock. Luncheon followed. Interment Lyndoch Baptist Church Cemetery. In memory of Harold and in recognition of the amazing care he received while at The Grove Nursing Home, the family would appreciate donations be directed to the Grove Nursing Home Redevelopment Fund.
