Very sorry to hear of Jim’s passing. Jim helped me cut firewood for a couple of winters up at the farm. I will always have the picture in my head of Jim walking into the bush with his black toque on, cigarette to one side of his mouth and the chainsaw slung over his shoulder. Rest In Peace Jim

My deepest condolences to the Schlievert Family. Also a Heartfelt thank you for sharing Jim with me. My heart is broken. My best friend is gone. The only person I could and was able to talk freely about my emotions. Jim would say come out to the farm. when I got there he would tell me I was not allowed to be sad with all the animals around.he was right.P.S.he was always right. Just the thought of not being able to hear.touch or talk to him is unbearable. I will miss him till I learn to live without him and then still. love you always Jim R.I.P.

Our modern day John Wayne. This man, this incredibly man, the most devoted horseman, father, grand father, and friend to all humans and animals alike. His kindness is immeasurable. A few years ago, we were at an event and the gate did not want to let Jimmie in, because he had Critter with him. He said to the gate attendant, "Well let me get my phone out and I will call my kids and grand-kids and they will just pack up and leave your show. Funny, then he was allowed in. Thank fully he was there as Jeff was badly injured in the show and we counted on his assistance to get us all home safely. I loved to listen to his stories, some many times, but I honestly laughed each time. I am going to miss this kind soul very very much. I love you Yimmy. God speed my friend, I am sure there will be a field of horses in this chapter of your life also. Till we meet and ride again, Joanne and Jeff Desarmia

Very saddened to hear about Jimmy's passing. I first met Jimmy 30 years ago when he said to me "you will never get your horse to whoa if you don't also get off her and work her from the ground".
