Georgie, my brother. Wow what a shock. I will always remember all the laughs. Whenever mom & dad had a family gathering the party never really started until you arrived and remember how excited I was to see your smiling face come through the door. You always were smiling and always had stories to tell. I think the best ever was when you did your little disappearing leg act, Too funny. I know we did not see much of each other but I always knew all I had to do is call & you would be by my side. I love you very much brother and will miss you.
To Anne and family I am so sorry for your loss. You, I am sure have lots of happy times to remember with my brother as we all do.

George,
Sixteen years ago I came into your family and you welcomed me with open arms and some humorous statistics about Canada and the United States. I knew from that moment on you and I were going to get along great!
You were an "eggcellent" cook. Every morning while we were up visiting, you would cook us anything we wanted...even if we all wanted different things, you didn't care...you cooked what we wanted. You knew that I loved peameal bacon. In fact, you introduced me to it. Every year when we'd come for a visit, you would always make sure you picked up a nice big slab so I could have it with my big "trucker breakfast" every morning. We wouldn't have to eat for the rest of the day after those breakfasts. You also made sure the house was stocked with all our favorite goodies...Definitely put on a few pounds every visit.
One of my favorite memories was your love of the squirrels. You even named a few (Nails). We would go out and feed them every morning. We loved it!! You had a way to call them and they would come running. Those squirrels ate better then some people!! You'd buy them cookies and candy bars...you said they needed the sugar to fatten up for the winter. Hahaha
You even had snacks for the dog that walked by your house everyday.
Some of the most special memories are those where you were pranking people. You always made everyone laugh. We would always pull back the covers of our beds only to find a big rubber snake hiding under the sheets. Daniel actually started bringing fake bugs and rubber snakes to scare Grandpa with. We always had LOTS of laughs over that. I think we might've even scared Granny Annie a time or two!
You were such a great Grandpa, George. You were so patient with Daniel. He always had such a fun time hanging out, just the two of you. You'd take him fishing, out to the movies, McDonalds, or even just the dollar store to buy something FUN. You were so good at playing with the kids...they all loved Grandpa George.
I am so grateful that Daniel is old enough to remember and retain all the wonderful memories he was able to create with you.
There will never be another one like you, George. I am so happy that I got the privilege of having you as my father in law, for all the years I did. What joy you brought to everyone who knew you.
We love you George. We will share stories of you and laugh together for all the years to come. Thank you for all the good times!

Christmas Day I lost the most important man in my life. My hero ,my mentor, my best friend. Dad you were a kind and generous sole with the most contagious laugh. An ability to light up a room no matter what the situation either with a good old days story or the latest joke. You were always there to guide me threw anything and helped to shape me into the man I am today. I will miss my weekly updates on the latest news from suburban Arnprior and watching you scare the crap out of my family with rubber snakes on our visits. I will miss the ice cream trips for a cone and you putting a 3ft tower of whip cream on everyone’s pie! I will miss the quirky sarcasm with Ruth and how you could fire the kids up like they were on a pound of sugar with a snap of your fingers. Even though time and distance had separated us I need you to know that it’s the little things that you did that I cherished so much. As I read and listen to all the stories everyone has posted and told me over the past couple days I know it wasn’t just my life that you affected so much! That makes me feel very honored to call you my dad and very proud to be your son. I can only hope I can live up to be as good of a man as you were and will always know you are looking down on me checking in. I wish I could give you one more hug to send you on your way but as you start your new journey I just want you to know that I love you!

George (dad) was one in a million husband dad and grandpa loved by all who knew him. You could have the worst day ever yet when you are in his presence he would just make you laugh and brighten up your day so much. Just to be near him was a true honour and a privilage.
