Obituary of Shirley Rice

With great sadness we announce that after a long and courageous struggle, Shirley passed away at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Thursday evening, July 4^th, 2019. She was 73. Beloved wife and best friend of John. Dearly loved mother of Kevin Soehner (Lisa) and Joanne Pittock. Loved gramma of 5 and great-gramma of 6. Dear sister of Wayne, Edgar and Robert Leedham, Marion Desnoyers and Margaret Moore. Special sister-in-law of Romayne Thompson (Joel) and Orval Rice (Annette). Also survived by her nieces, nephews and extended family. Predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Germaine (nee Sevigny) Leedham as well as her brother, Gilbert. Shirley’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation was held on Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning from 8:30 to 9:15. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. In memory of Shirley, please consider a donation to the St. John Chrysostom Church Restoration Fund. Members of the Catholic Women’s League  and the Knights of Columbus will assemble at the funeral home for prayers on Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m.
