Obituary of Michael McGonigal

Mike passed away peacefully in his sleep at the Ottawa Hospital – Civic Campus on Friday morning, November 29, 2019; Michael Joseph “Mike” McGonigal of Arnprior was 66 years of age. Dear son of Grace and the late Joe McGonigal. Beloved husband for over 41 years of Maxine (nee McGrath). Dearly loved “Dad” of Lynn McGonigal of Ottawa; Laura Devries (Brien) of Almonte and Michael “Mike” Simpson of Georgetown. Adored “Poppa” of Amelia and Miles Devries, Noemi and Dominic Simpson. Dear brother of Jill Cornwell of Courtney, B.C. Lovingly remembered by the McGrath family: Patrick (Kathy), Janet Dick (Dennis), Joel (Joanne), Peter, Linda McIntyre (Steve), Robert (Tina) and Maureen Meek (late Daryle). Also survived and missed by his many nieces and nephews. Mike’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation was held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Wednesday morning, December 4th from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. A Funeral Mass was celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock. In memory of Mike, a donation to the Oncology Department at CHEO would be appreciated by the family.
