I had the opportunity to work for and with Mr. Lammert in Germany for a four year period and I enjoyed his leadership and passion that he brought to the challenges in running multiple business units on an army base. He was always open to listening to any suggestions that would advance the betterment of the Canadian families and employees that enjoyed the CANEX services. He was focussed and meticulous and a tremendous well prepared individual for discussions or debates. He did let me win one once. The community of Arnprior has certainly lost a true visionnary and my condolences go to his family. Fond memories from Gary Racine - CSSM And BSSM.

I am saddened to learn of Jack’s passing. Jack and I worked together at the Canadian Forces Exchange in Germany. Jack was a passionate, energetic, and imaginative leader who, through his devotion to our mission to serve military families, made better the lives of so many people there. Later on, the lucky citizens of Arnprior also benefitted from Jack’s devotion to improving his community.
At work, Jack was generous with his time, helping me (a young, inexperienced accountant) understand the business from his side of the table. Jack was a straight shooter and we could disagree (and did) and then go have a pilsner together, no hard feelings. He was a greatly valued colleague.
My deepest condolences to Rosalyn and family.

Ros, So sorry to hear of Jack’s passing, he played a major role in so many lives.
Jack and I met first in England in 1986 where he hired me for a Job with Canadian Forces Exchange Europe in Lahr Germany. Jack provided guidance and the authority to make hard decision, you were always aware this authority came with accountability and responsibility to get a job done right.
Jack was a passionate negotiator, leader, a hard man to beat, maintained a consistent black and white approach to work life decisions and supported his people.
Jack continued to support me when I moved to Canada, provided a phone reference interview for a job I applied for, this must have helped, I got the job and have had a very successful career with one of Canada’s Leading Grocery Retailers now for over 27 years, enabling me to use and add to, the experiences and knowledge Jack exposed me to under his leadership.
Ros, my Deepest condolences

I am very saddened to hear of Jack's sudden passing. I met Jack in 1983 when he hired me to work in Lahr Germany .He was probably the most effective Manager I ever worked for and there was no task too big for Jack. I traveled on many business trips with Jack in Germany and for 5 or 6 of those years we had to work together in Munich during the time of October Fest. Needless to say we shared many a beer together ! He was always most kind, considerate and always a gentleman. The Town of Arnprior was lucky to have him.
Ros, you have my deepest sympathies and will be in my prayers.

My deepest condolences to Rosalyn and family on the passing of Jack. Spent a great ten plus years working with Jack at the Canadian Forces Exchange Europe in Lahr. Learned a great deal from Jack over those many years. Fondly remember our many buying tips to the German Messes. Still tell stories today and have great laughs about those trips.
You are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time.
RIP Jack

Saddened and shocked to hear of fellow Councilor Jack passing. He was dedicated to the town of Arnprior in so many ways and always had the best interests of the community in his heart. He was a wise, sometimes outspoken supporter of Arnprior & we have lost a fine man and friend. Condolences to his family.

Jack will be remembered fondly for his many efforts in service to his community. As a colleague and friend on the Arnprior Council, I can attest to his dedication and commitment to the role an elected representative. He was a model for us all in striving to do the right thing and in the right way.
He delivered diligence and effort in that capacity and helped the rest of us on council to work toward that same goal. He will be missed by family and friends. His passing is also a great loss to the community.
