My condolences to all the Hughes family on the lost of Margaret. I am a pastoral care visitor from Grace Saint Andrews and I loved visiting her. She always remembered my name, was very pleasant and we would always have a great conversation about her many crafts. She will be sorely missed, particularly by Harold, for whom she was a reassuring presence.

My heart breaks for everyone. Nana was the sweetest person I have ever known and she will be deeply missed. One of my favourite Nana memories is how she would fill the Christmas tree with candies for us to find, she loved doing all the little things for those she loved. Nana also started the tradition of opening Christmas pjs on christmas eve and this is something I carry on with my own family now. Love you always Nana xoxox

Aunt Margaret was such a special person. She was always so thoughtful and kind and put everyone before herself. She was one of a kind. I always remember looking forward to the peanut butter marshmallow squares she used to make at Christmas and the lovely cards she sent! We will miss her!

Our association with the Hughes who are the in-laws of our son Mirza was a very pleasant experience. Margaret was of very strong character whom we have grown to love and respect. We will miss her very much as a beacon ro her children and grandchildren .

Margaret loved to knit with and for people, and had a taste for quirky films and books. She was a natural conversationalist, and expressed her fondness and concern for the new friends of all ages that she made wherever she happened to be. Margaret made our little corner of the world a nicer place to be. Rest in peace, dear friend.
