I knew Devon 25 yrs ago , we used to train at the old Y in Kanata. At times we would meet up there together usually on squats days( I couldn't believe how strong he was). I had some of my greatest memories with Devon and our friends from the gym. Fun memories from having a bunch of us going to the Vox bar and having shots of Tequila , going to Mexico with Devon and his beautiful girlfriend staying with his wonderful ,kind family and we watched Devon performed a beautiful concert at the beach. I was always so impressed how powerful he was on stage. As life moves us around we drifted apart and I had not seen him since that time. I'm so sad to hear this. You helped people with your kindness and your beautiful music. Will always have your memory with me.

What a truly beautiful and organic soul. We became friends the moment we met, and he encouraged me to sing again. He taught me how to harmonize by the pool in Acapulco, And when I got it myself he told me that I had a beautiful voice and all I need to do is practice a little bit and I would get it. By the end of my trip we were harmonizing by the pool every night, And having the most amazing conversations. He would always encourage people, and when I was down he lifted my spirits. The only thing that leaves me able to rest easy, is that I know I have one heck of an amazing guardian angel watching over me.

My deepest condolences to Marcel and Nathalie. I was so saddened by the passing of Denis. Even though we had not been in touch over the years, I still remember all the fun our gang ( Denis, Nathalie, Peter, Tom, Carolyn, Cathy, Michael and me) had on Graham Drive in Montreal. I will always keep those memories close - summers - biking, climbing trees, taking turns on our homemade go-kart; winters- playing for hours outside in the snow.

There are no words that describe this feeling, a feeling of such loss not just shared by myself by all who knew, really knew him. A once in a lifetime friendship and love that we only get to experience a handful of times in our lives. Devon was one of those life experiences I will cherish until it is my time.
