As others have shared here, Kathleen was a very special person with a gentle soul and a heart bigger than her body. I always loved going to visit family in Quadeville on the weekends when I was growing up. A weekend wasn't complete without a trip to the store, or several to see Aunt Kathleen and Uncle Garnet. Back then, a dollar would get you chips and a pop, but somehow at the store it also magically got you an extra chocolate bar, a little paper bag full of Swedish berries or whatever other savory confection you were craving. And more often than not, it wouldn't cost you anything at all. Funny how when I got older and I started traveling home with my husband, gasoline for the ride home somehow also had this magical discount applied.
The little piece of the universe that Kathleen carved out for herself during her lifetime, will now sadly be a large void. But her generosity, compassion, and empathy for others, not to mention her laugh, will resonate far more loudly than the void will. Thankfully memories of Kathleen will keep a little bit of her with all of us, forever.
