Obituary of Ferdinand Bisson

1934 – 2020 It is with heavy hearts, the family announce the passing of Ferdinand Bisson on June 28th, 2020, just shy of a month of his 86th birthday. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 27 years, Gisèle Lessard (first wife Louise Bisson 1989). Most loving father to his daughter, Francine Godin (Mark). Predeceased by his only son, Luc (2004). Special father-in-law to Christine L’Abbe (Mark and Ciara). Ferdinand was a very proud Grandpapa to Lisa Godin (Jean-François) and Kelly Rusheleau (Tim). Adored Great Grandpapa to Haddie and Wade Rusheleau. Fern was the second youngest to a family of 16. Fondly remembered and cherished by so many nieces and nephews. Survived by his brother Richard (late Rita), sisters Margo (late Germain), Pauline and Aline and sister-in-law Françoise (late Raymond). Predeceased by his parents Aline Vary and Rodolphe Bisson. Predeceased by his siblings Jean-Paul (Lucienne), Roger (Juliette), Jacques, Philippe (Louise), Armand (Madeleine), Gaston (Claire), Clément (Carmen), Jacqueline (Orval), Hélène (Armand), Raymond and Monique. Fern’s favourite place on earth was his cottage in Rhoddy’s Bay. He loved sports – hockey, golf and especially his Blue Jays. He was an educator, life-time member of the Knights of Columbus (Local Council 6217), thrived in his church and a true gentleman. He will be deeply missed by all of his dearest friends and especially his best friend Paul Chabot. Special thank you to the many doctors, nurses and staff at the Arnprior Memorial Hospital for their wonderful care and kindness while he was there. Fern’s final arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd. At this time, a private family service took place at Saint Remi Catholic Church in Ottawa.
