Steven, we were so very sorry to hear of the passing of your dear
mother! From what you have told us and what we read from you and her
obituary she was an extraordinary, multi-talented lady. Now we know
where your many strengths come from. Thank you for letting us know and
for the wonderful pictures. I'm sorry that I couldn't manage to connect
with her as I'm sure we could have had some lively conversations. I
know you will miss her very much. We are happy to makel a donation to the
Ottawa Valley Wild Bird Care Centre. We also share with her a great
love of wild birds. Our deepest condolences to you and yours.
Most sincerely,
Lucille and Bill Poole

Frank and I are deeply saddened by the news of the passing of your beloved mother.
What a wonderful, heart-warming tribute, written by a son who truly loved his mum.
I remember her quite well at your 50th birthday party, she was a real spark! Animated, articulate, witty, and she sure knew how to captivate your guests, myself included.
That is a lovely picture of Janet on her wedding day; young, happy, in love and quite beautiful in her bridal finery. The photo of you and your mom is also beautiful, showing the devotion and caring of a son for his mother. Our profound condolences go out to you and your family.
With love,
Jennifer & Frank Reda

Cher Steve,
Affectueusement,
Louise et Cameron D.
PS: Can you imagine that on the very day that your mother passed away, looking through my papers as I have been doing for the past several months,
I came across a very gracious and charming letter which she had sent me, years ago, to thank me for addressing the South Shore University Women's Club, this at her invitation.
Strange, isn't it? But the world is full of strange things...

The sky is raining tears... my mother passed away early Tuesday Morning. She was 88 and succumbed to complications from a heart attack she had last Wednesday. I was lucky enough to move close-by for the last 4 years and spend much time with her including yesterday afternoon where we happily shared one of our lively conversations. Janet ‘Ginn’ Parry was a great listener, she a very knowledgeable and she was wise. I will miss our conversations immeasurably. She was born in London in 1931 to a renowned Cardiologist and survived the ‘Blitz’. She also recently avoided Covid-19 with the help of the staff at Island View Retirement home in Arnprior Ontario, where she spent her later years. My mom was a caring and giving person and one of my earliest memories was he setting up an inflatable yellow dinghy during our youth soccer games, gathering contributions for Vietnamese boat refugees in the early 70s. She was an Occupational Therapist by training and worked in the UK, Kenya and Canada helping people after strokes, heart attacks and accidents. She raised my older brother David, my younger sister Marion and I on the south shore of Montreal. She suffered from OCD which frustrated her throughout her life. She still managed my sports schedule and devote love to all three of us, especially when my father moved out 2 miles away. She had a passion for reading, she was a political activist, she invented several pieces of medical equipment, had a love of all creatures great and small, and managed to find beauty in just about anything. I will always worship these traits of kindness and the wonder of nature, and know they were passed on to me from her. I was lucky enough to share Leonard Cohen’s last tour as well as catching Gordon Lightfoot last October with my mom, as we also shared a love for music. As a family we are taking condolences through Pilon Family Funeral Home (www.pilonfamily.ca) in Arnprior Ontario, and accepting donations (in lieu of flowers) for a plaque for my mother at the Ottawa Wild Bird Centre. To my darling Ginn, you now live through me...
