My deepest condolences to all of you. Wes was like a father to me in my teenage year's working at Wes’. He was always so sincere, caring, genuine and heartfelt. A rare gem of a human and I am so proud to have him as part of my history. I celebrate his life with the biggest smile on my face. He was truly a gifted man who made french fries taste like heaven. A homegrown, genius entrepreneur a true visionary and an absolute legend. Mickey equally honoured, a true Queen of the stand. Together they honourably served the people like no other food stand I know of. R.I.P Wes

what a loss for this town. Met the guy a few times at events where they’d bring him in to do up some chips. I have a fond childhood memory of him serving his famous chips at I believe was the Pentecostal church here in town. This man put Arnprior on the map and made something as simple as French fried legendary. The thoughts of the McNaughton family are with Wes’s family.

Although I have not seen any of you for some time, I have such great memories of babysitting and Wes would always bring me an order of his delicious fries when he would come home and many times after working till 11 pm, we would stop for some on our way home. All of our trips to Arnprior were not complete until we visited the "chip truck". Our boys grew up asking for Wes' chips while visiting Grandma. To the Dodds family and friends,
As a young lad I used to help un-load potatoes from the train for Wes. As I got older I owned a 74 VW Beetle that Wes thought was "quite a beauty". I used ask him all kinds of questions after I discovered he was a VW mechanic and his mechanical prowess was always offered should you have an issue, of course with hardy laugh a huge smile. Wes was on of a kind. His fries were legendary and was always a sure sign of summer was coming when he opened in the spring. Arnprior has lost a legend and a kind gentle soul. Thinking of you all at this very difficult time.Heartfelt sympathies to all.

To the Dodd family, my deepest condolences. Wes meant the world to me when I was a young boy, as he was my first 'boss". I worked at Wes' from 1966 to 1973. He taught me me how to run a business along with Monique. No shortcuts. If we were to be open to midnight, you stayed open until midnight, you were not close a minute early. The chip stand had to be kept spotless clean. The last thing you did each night was to get on your hands and knees to wash the floor. I enjoyed every minute I spent with Wes. He had a great sense of humour and a great laugh. I got my drivers lic in Wes's car, my dad had died when I was 11 and my mom didn't drive, but Wes made sure I got it as soon as I turned 16. May you rest in peace Wes, you deserve it.
