Watching the beautiful funeral celebration, which Rina helped me to find on Facebook, many memories came back to my mind. When my parents started to live in Kinburn (1968) and later on in Constance Bay, they got befriended with Keizer, Van't Erve, Fransen and of course with the Nanne family. It was always a joy for me also to accompany them and go to the farm in Pakenham. Liesbeth was then still a little girl and I remember that one of the boys, Pieter or John, gave me an egg I think of a dove for my collection. When I moved to Montreal in 1982, I stayed in touch and corresponded with your Mom, and in later years I visited her now and then. We went even at least once for lunch at dinnertime in Pakenham and she learned me how to play domino! My Mom passed away in 1987 and my Dad in 1999 and I share your grieving because I know that even when we have peace knowing that our parents have now a better life, we really miss them. My sincere condolences therefore and may the Lord bless you all.

We remember our visit to tante Marie at Carleton Lodge on the 26th of July 2019. We talked Dutch, we had dinner together and we had fun.
I remember the special words she had for me as a sister-widow.
In May 1990 my late husband Johan and I stayed with oom Arie and tante Marie at their house in Pakenham. We played cards (klaverjassen) for hours.

I recall when she and Mr. Nanne first brought their family to the Catholic church in Pakenham, they sat right in front of our family. The church was full in those days. God Bless this fine lady.

To the Nanne family,
I remember when your parents came to Pakenham and began farming and also parishioners at St Peter Celestine Parish. My father said at the time ‘They will do well because the Dutch are very good farmers’. And do well they did on the farm and in the community.
You will miss Mary but her long life so well lived is one to be celebrated, not mourned.
Cherish the memories and be thankful Mary was with you for so many years!
