When Jeff’s older sister Judy called me with the sad news that my friend of 45 years had passed, I was filled with emotions and memories. Jeff always told me he was cut from a different cloth, and he certainly was. I first met Jeff in high school. We knew a mutual friend and that was how he introduced himself to me, and it was the beginning of a great friendship. Jeff loved snowmobiling, and when we were in our teens he said to me “you should get one!” so I did, and along with others, we spent many wintery hours on the Ottawa river. He also had an old motorcycle and once again urged me to get one of my own. We took our bikes up to his family hunting camp one summer weekend and spent the time riding up and down the trails. I moved away to Calgary and eventually got Jeff to join me there. He got a job with me at C.P. Rail. I was happy that my old friend was once again talking me into things like adding racing parts to my car and getting a dirt bike which we spent many hours riding. The day I broke my collarbone it was Jeff that lifted the bikes into the back of the truck and took me to the hospital. He always had a way of getting me to get things that we could do together. The truth is I wanted to do things with him. I remember when he got his little red express truck. We would go everywhere in it. Jeff ended up moving back to Ottawa, and we always kept in touch, he even flew back to Calgary to be best man at my wedding, after I had been best man at his. I moved back to Ottawa as well, and Jeff would stop in to see me and we would talk and laugh about the old times. He always had a positive outlook, even when he and Christine lost their house and things were at their worst. I could go on, but I’ll save that for when I have a beer with friends. Like he always said, he was cut from a different cloth. He was a big man with a big heart and had many friends, and I’m happy that I was one of them. Love and miss you buddy. My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones.

So sorry to hear about Jeff's passing; glad I ran into him a couple of months ago as it had been many years since I had
spoken to him. I am glad I had a chance to chat and shake his hand. He leaves me with a lot of great childhood memories from back in the days like showing us younger punks how to drive cars. Good bye friend although he felt more like a brother to me.
My sympathies go out to his siblings and the rest of his family.

My condolences to Jeff's family. Our families grew up together in Britannia and I have alot of childhood memories from it. I have
fond memories of all of Jeff's siblings. Jeff was always tinkering around outside with Jimmy in the garage working on something.

I am Wayne Villeneuve,s sister. I have known Jeff over the years from him being friends with Wayne.
He was always warm and peasant whenever I ran into him, the last time as at my father,s funeral.
My sympathies to his wife and son, this is so hard and Jeff was too young. I hope you eventually find peace and comfort.
