Obituary of Hazel Stevens

(nee Burnette) With profound sadness, the Stevens family announces that their Matriarch passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital early Monday morning, January 25, 2021; Hazel Helen Stevens of Arnprior was in her 86th year. Beloved wife and best friend of the late Everett Stevens (April 11, 2019). Dearly loved and devoted mother of David (Patricia), Donna Hisko, Debra Shean (late Greg), Doug (Kim Mitchell) and Duane (Jayne). Cherished and proud “Nanny” of 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson and several step-grandchildren. Predeceased by one grandson Lucas. Dear sister of Joyce Schubrink (late Ivan), Garry Burnette (late Gail) and Maurice Burnette (Cindy). Daughter of the late Oliver and Elizabeth (nee Kuiack) Burnette, Hazel was also predeceased by 3 brothers: Brian (Cathy), John (Rachel) and Doug as well as 4 sisters: Theresa Ayotte (late Robert), Jean Powell, Darlene Farrell (Stephen) and Violet Yade (late Charlie). Quiet, loving and generous, Hazel will be fondly remembered for the many acts of kindness that she showed to all. She will be missed. Her final care and arrangements were entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A Live Webcast Tribute was conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel on Friday morning, January 29th at 11 o’clock. Interment followed at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. Those wishing to pay their respects are invited to gather on Usborne Street and stand next to their vehicles as the funeral procession passes by on our way to the interment immediately following the service.
