I have just belatedly learned of Yvon's passing. Dear Sandy and family - you well know that Yvon was someone hard not to notice, and once met, impossible to forget. And his story telling was certainly legendary! When I started my p/t job at St John's, we had many reasons and chances to meet at the church, most often through the choirs I conducted, but also just around the church. . May your memories be a blessing in this time of loss,so that you have peace of heart and soul.

Dear Sandy, Ray, Renelle and family members:
Yvon's passing on Saturday evening came as a shock, despite the length of his illness. His ever-present smile while sharing his unlimited supply of personal stories on the occasions of Oblate Associate meetings at Galilee, will stay with me for a long time. Yvon lavished each of our members with his unconditional loving friendship, and I was greatly honoured to have been among them.
You and your loved ones have my profound sympathy on the loss of such a precious man - a proud husband, father, grandfather and brother. Know that I will continue to uphold you in prayer as you grieve Yvon's loss. May our loving Lord grant Yvon eternal rest.

My sincere condolences to Sandy, Ray and Renelle and all the large Ouellet family. Yvon was really a true friend. I had the pleasure of serving with him in the Armed Forces and our friendship continued afterwards with many coffee visits reminiscing over our days in the service in particular the Airborne Regiment. I had the pleasure of putting Yvon through his basic parachuting course in Rivers Manitoba 1968 and on his fist jump he had a very bad malfunction which he handled perfectly however I had to do some smooth taking to get him back up for his second and following qualifying jumps. Yvon wore those wings and regimental colors with pride. The regiment threw many exciting challenges his way. One he spoke of often was the deployment to Montreal October 1970 for the FLQ crises. On arrival Yvon was immediately sent up to Mont. Saint Bruno to establish a defensive position and provide security for the military RRB communications station and the RCA tower which handled most of the Montreal and Provincial Police communications. Many stories came off that mountain which Yvon loved to talk about.
This world has lost a special man, big hearted, very smart, a musician of many instruments, a voice that could carry many a good tune. A big community supporter and a dedicated Church and family man.
May good friends and memories help this fine family through this difficult time.
Fair Winds and Soft Landing my friend. Lest We Forget.

My condolences to you Sandy, Raymond,Renelle, and family. Yvon was a friend and a mentor to many of us 'kids' growing up in Arnprior who like the outdoors. He was always full of spark and had more energy then us teenagers at the time.
Yvon always had the time to share his passion for life of the outdoors and to show us a new invention he made, or a survival skill he thought we should know. Throughout the years when I was able to stop by he always had a big smile on his face and a story to tell with the excitement of a kid. Tough as nails and a fire in your step- that is the Yvon I will always remember. You are missed friend.

Your name came up more times than not about all the ribbing you put up with until you didn’t. Then he said, look out.
He will be missed but I know as well as you and your family knows he is now with God.Thoughts and prayers going your way.

Sandy, Renelle and Raymond: We are sending our sympathies to each of you in the loss of a very special husband and father. We remember so many goo d visits when Ivan was at Mom and Dad’s across the street, and all the music, laughs, military talks and much teasing. He always seemed to have time for a chat, a story, or a lesson on how to tie a bowline. He was a great Branch 174 member and community person. Even when we talked just recently, he was realistic but had time for a laugh. We trust your many memories will give you solace through these times and for the future.
