Obituary of Mary Emmett
Following a brief illness, Mary passed away at the home of her daughter and son-in-law on Sunday morning, April 25, 2021 at the age of 91. She was born in Renfrew, Ontario on July 6, 1929 and was the only child of the late Carl Salway and late Mary Elizabeth Gordon. Mary was predeceased by her first husband, Benson Eades (2004); their Sons, Brent (1990), Terry (1975), and David (1958); her second husband, Ernest Emmett (2008) and her Step-Dad, Albert Congdon (1976). Mourning her loss are her daughter Barbara Eades-Moreau (Gaston) and sons: Leslie Eades (Jen), John Eades (Patricia), Hugh Eades (Sharon), Phillip Eades (Shelley); step-siblings: Roscoe Congdon and Etta Congdon-Foster; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Mary enjoyed sewing, knitting and when able to, camped and travelled with Ernie to their favourite camp sites or winter destination in Florida. One of her greatest enjoyments was her horse, Barron, whether participating in the occasional equestrian event or trail riding, especially with her friend Lilian. Her grand dog, Kesha, always brought big smiles to her Nana who spoiled her with endless petting and treats! Kesha proved to be the best therapy for Mary during her illness, so attentive to her every move. The family is very grateful for the care and guidance given by Mary’s medical team, led by Dr. Earl Gordon, nurses Jamie, Evelyne and Chantal from St. Elizabeth Health, our Community Paramedics, her PSW, Samantha, Arnprior Seniors At Home, and the staff at the Arnprior Hospital. Happy trails Mother, may the wind always be at your back and may God hold you in the palm of his hand. Mary’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. Extended family and friends are invited to join us on their electronic devices for a tribute to be webcast live on Friday morning, April 30th at 10 a.m. Private interment will follow in Trinity Anglican Cemetery, Bearbrook. Given Mary’s love of animals, donations to the Arnprior and District Humane Society, 490 Didak Drive, Arnprior K7S 0C0 would be most appreciated.
