I am so glad I took the time to get to know Auntie Shirley. I have wonderful memories of our time together, just hanging out chatting, doing puzzles or playing cards. She took me around the area pointing out places they had lived and recounting memories from her youth, as well as later tales of my grandparents. We toured Quebec, travelling on the north side of St. Lawrence going east and on the south heading home. Our big trip through eastern Canada is one I will never forget. We saw and learned so many interesting things. As the saying goes "Thanks for the memories" Auntie Shirley: until we meet again. Doug and Rodney, sending you virtual hugs at this difficult time. Take care.

Our deepest condolences to Rodney and Doug and all those who were touched as much as Sandra and I just knowing and sharing so many good times with Shirley at the club, camping in corn fields, snatching apple pies in Harriston, and simple dinners at home. I was touched by how she had everyones back, and was fare to all. She would defend even the chilly pot to make sure everyone got a taste!
We will sadly miss her along with all of you.
May Shirley rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss
Aunt Shirley held a special place in so many people's hearts. She was outspoken but kind, and the grief she went through as a mother would break most people's spirit but not hers.
I always looked forward to when she came to visit. I always called her Aunt Shirley, never Auntie, and Uncle Eugene I called "uncle Uey"
RIP you beautiful lady

To Doug and Rodney - our deepest condolences for your loss. We, too, will greatly miss your Mom. We look back on the 50-60 years we have known them. I say that because Joe knew them even longer than I did. I always have a vision of Shirley's smiling face when we'd all cry - let's go shopping - which meant going to yard sales - that was heaven for Shirley and us, too, just because we followed her. So many fun times we've all had with her and Red. Never, never to be forgotten!! All the wonderful years of camping all over Canada. Pictures, lots of pictures in our keeping to remember them by as well. The years of "tenting" were the best as we all sat by the night fires and shared our memories and reminisced of good times. Right to the very end, even through the Alzheimer's, Shirley was a "good" person and one we'll never forget. We never forget Red either. Loved them both so much! Our lives will never be the same again....

Will miss you, Shirley! Even when you were seriously impaired by your Alzheimers, I would look at you while I was putting a new shooter through their introduction to shooting bullseye, and see you listening approvingly with a big smile. Much love, Ed.

George & I would like to extend our sincere condolences to Shirley’s family on the sad news of her passing. We often enjoyed a chat and tea with Red & Shirley. Shirley & I were both into doll collecting and even went to the odd auction sale together. That along with target shooting and a variety of other common interests gave us lots to chat about over the years. Shirley was a hard working and kind hearted soul that made this world a better place.
