Obituary of Wilmer Berger

(Retired NRC) April 23, 1939 – May 3, 2021 Peacefully at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute on Monday, May 3, 2021; Wilmer Berger of Arnprior; formerly of Ottawa passed away in his 83rd year. Beloved husband for over 61 years of Arvilla (nee Luloff). Much loved and devoted “Dad” of Joan Berger (spouse Holly Perry) of Eganville and Barbara (spouse Michael Barkley) of Metcalfe. Predeceased by his parents: Emilie and Edward Berger formerly of Eganville. Wil was born in Eganville, Ontario but lived in Ottawa during his working career then moved to Arnprior following retirement. Wilmer worked at the National Research Council of Canada, Montreal Road, Ottawa for over 37 years. He, Arvilla and the girls enjoyed travelling, gardening, camping and spending time at Mink Lake. He was also a Ham Radio Operator (VE3 KHW) and still dabbled on air now and then. He will be missed. Wilmer’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.
