Anita Nevins posted a condolence
Tuesday, June 8, 2021
To the Lascelle and Dunbar families,
My daughters Anne Marie , Maureen and I had the pleasure of meeting Don at the Dunbar Reunions held over the past 26 years. The first we attended was In August 1995. I remember Don going above and beyond to make us feel welcomed by the group. We all remember the evenings of entertainment as we swatted the mosquitos.
We offer our condolences to Don's daughter Christine and to his two sons Derek and Dean as well as their families.
Anita Nevins, daughter in-law of Ann Dunbar Nevins ,originally from Pembroke.

To the Lascelle Family,
I had the pleasure of knowing Donnie for more years than I can remember. I worked with his brother Leo at Boeing and was great friends with his sister Marilyn. Don always had a kind word whenever we chatted. Most of our chats surrounded music and playing guitar. He had a wonderful voice and a great presence. My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this very difficult time.

Deeply saddened to hear that my Haley coworker and music buddy had passed. Many memorable times at work and got a chance to gig with Don a few times after he retired.A great voice and guitar player as well.An entertainer in the true meaning of the word.Thought me lots about publicly preforming as a musican. He was all about making sure everybody had a good time.Gentleman as if ever was one it was my buddy Donnie.Like the song we sang many times “ this world is not my home I’m just passing through “ That’s you Donnie. Will gig again, where our guitars will never go out of tune.

Terry and I want to express condolences on behalf of both of our families for the loss of Uncle Don. He was a much loved and favourite uncle to Terry and I and we always enjoyed any time spent with him. He was a wonderful musician and helpful in getting Terry to follow in the musical footsteps of some of the family, by picking out a guitar, giving him chord tips and beginner lessons and entertaining us with all his music. He had a wonderful smile and a sincere heart and loved a warm hug and kiss. He will be missed by the many friends and family members whose lives he touched but his memory will live on in our hearts. May God give us all peace and comfort during this time.

There was always music in the Dunbar farm house kitchen when the family would get together for occasions like Christmas, Birthdays or sometimes just Sunday night supper. Donnie fit right in with his musical abilities and outgoing personality from the first time Patricia brought him home to meet the gang. Therese and I were married in May of 1979 and Patricia and Don were married in October of 1979. We were always close creating many memories together while raising our families, walking the farm, family reunions, euchre parties, deer hunting, road trips to Troy New York, the list goes on. We will miss Donnie. We send our love to Christine & John, Derek, Dean & Mallorie, Patrick, Daniel & Enver. We extend our condolences to Dawn, Joan, Shirley, Madelaine and all of Donnie's family & friends.
