Obituary of Jeanne Griffin

(Nee Desarmia) With sad yet grateful hearts, the family announces that their matriarch passed away peacefully at Riverpark Retirement Residence in Nepean on Tuesday, May 18, 2021. Jeanne Llewellyn Griffin of Ottawa was in her 101st year. Beloved wife of the late Joe Griffin (2016). Dearly loved mother of Peter Griffin (Heather Harrison), Deborah Nieminen (Martti), Susan Busch and Angela Slonosky (Michael), all of Ottawa. Much loved Grandma of Christopher Busch (Jennifer), Erik Nieminen (Catherine Genest), Jennifer Slonosky (Brett Kovar) and Jonathon Slonosky (Emilea Chapman) and Great-Grandma of Alex Busch. The last surviving child of the late F. X. and Maud (Nee Cox) Desarmia, Jeanne was also predeceased by her brother Leo Desarmia (late Maude) and sisters: Margaret Bradley (late Leonard) and Audrey Lantz (late Norman). Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews and extended family. Jeanne’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. Extended family and friends are invited to join us on their electronic devices for a service to be webcast live on Tuesday, May 25th at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow at St. Alexander’s Cemetery, Sand Point. The family wish to thank the staff at River Park for their devoted care of Jeanne, especially Riziki, Anna, Barb and Eugenia.
