Obituary of Lou Martin

On Friday, May 28th, 2021 God called Dad home following a lengthy illness. Lucien Joseph “Lou” Martin, a long time resident of Arnprior was in his 89th year. He is finally at peace with his Saviour. Predeceased by his cherished wife, Hazel Iris (nee Robertson) and parents George and Clarisse (nee Schnob) Martin. Proud and loving father of David (Judy), Patricia Gagné (late David), Danny (Pam), Judy Dupuis (Ernie), Nancy Dupuis (late Joe), Diana Stevens (Crayton) and Thomas (Tonya). Loved Grandfather of Michael, Christopher (Jessica), Jeff (Vanessa), Zachary (Stephanie), Kurt, Patrick, Kate, Danielle (Mike), Matthew, David, Dakota, Tristan and Great Grandfather of Jorna, Jace, Kaylee, Maya, Gabriel, Preston, Adelyn, MacKenzie, Dawson, Emily, Rory and Sadie. Brother of Maurice (late Pam)and Roland (Barb). Predeceased by siblings Leo, Roger, Rene, Germaine and Theresa. Lou was well known in the community as a milkman and butcher for Smith Dairy for many years. He always had a smile and a greeting for everyone he met. He ended his working years at Pfizer where he enjoyed the comradery of his co-workers. He loved to travel with Mom and they saw a lot of the world. His home and yard were his pride and joy. He loved to stay busy in his garage always tinkering with something. He led a good life and was extremely proud of his family. Thank you to the staff of Caressant Care in Cobden for your compassion and caring for Dad in his last and final journey. Your kindness will always be appreciated. Dad’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated in his beloved St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior on Tuesday morning, June 1st at 11 o’clock. Due to current restrictions only 10 family members may attend however, extended family and friends may join us on their electronic devices for the simultaneous livestream of the Funeral Mass. For those wishing to pay their final respects to Lou’s family, you are asked to safely line Usborne Street between River Road and the Malloch Road Cemetery as the funeral procession files by immediately following the Funeral Mass.
