Obituary of Irene Smith

(nee Desjardins) With great sadness the family announces that Irene passed away suddenly at the Kingston General Hospital in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 4, 2021. She was 83. Beloved wife and best friend of Bill for over 62 years. Treasured mom of Kim Duncan (Robert) of Ottawa, Heather Takerer (Jason) of Smiths Falls and Jeff Smith (Trish) of Kingston. Cherished “nanny” of Tom and Ben Duncan, Jeremy and Hanah Takerer and Logan Smith. Dear sister of Dorcas Morphy (Allan) and special sister-in-law of Maxine Desjardins. Irene was predeceased by her only brother Denis Desjardins. Daughter of the late Laurier and Colombe (nee St. Denis) Desjardins. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews. Irene’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will take place on Tuesday, August 10th from 7-9pm. Extended family and friends are invited to join us on their electronic devices for a Live Webcast Funeral Tribute on Wednesday morning, August 11th at 11 o’clock. Interment Flat Rapids Cemetery.
