Obituary of Trish Petrie

April 8, 1979 – September 14, 2021 On Tuesday September 14th, we lost a lovely person, amazing mom, loving daughter and sister, giving friend, supportive co-worker and a wonderful selfless wife. Trish fought an unbelievable fight and overcame unsurmountable odds after suffering a rare and severe cardiac event in February. After many challenges during recovery Trish underwent heart transplant surgery in July. Sadly, Trish passed due to complications from the transplant. She was surrounded by her family in her last days. As her fight is now over, Trish is survived by her husband Scott, her cherished and beloved children Sam and Katie; her parents, Russ and Sally Jackson of Thunder Bay, Jeff and Shelby Jackson of Kimberly BC; Jack and Helen Petrie, Krista and Glenn Wallace; as well aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends. We would like to acknowledge all the Doctors, Nurses, Perfusionists, Respiration and Physio Therapists that were instrumental in Trish’s care. Words cannot express the level of professionalism, tenacity, care and most importantly compassion that Trish received while at the Heart Institute this year, and especially these last 8 weeks. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your tireless efforts. Trish’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, September 25th at the family home, 163 Senator Street in Carleton Place from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to remember Trish may make a one-time donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation (foundation@OttawaHeart.ca) directed to the Heart Failure Team.
