Obituary of James Varghese

With heavy hearts, the family announces that James passed away at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute, Ottawa on Thursday morning, September 30, 2021; James Varghese of Arnprior was 65. James was born to the late Geevarghese Mathen and late Annamma Mathen in Kerala, India. He is also survived by his stepmother Alice Varghese. Beloved husband of Saramma James for 41 years and son-in-law of Rachel Samuel. Dearly loved Dad of Jerin (Vinita Thomas) of Arnprior; Jean Ann James (Jimmy Varughese) of Arnprior and Jaison Varghese (Reshma Johnson) of Australia. Cherished Appacha (Grandpa) of Isaac, Esther, Elijah, Josiah, Julia and Ava. Dear brother of Babu Varghese (Joyamma Varghese), Molly Simon (K.J. Simon), Lizzy Joseph (Joseph Daniel) and Elzy Peter (Peter Pattasseril). Also survived by nieces and nephews. James was a faithful servant of God and lived a life dedicated to his family and friends. He has left a gap that cannot be filled in the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing him. James was a loving husband, dad and the most cherished grandfather who will be dearly missed. Final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where family and friends may attend the visitation to be held on 15th October 2021 from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on 16th October 2021 at Glad Tidings Pentecostal Church, Arnprior followed by interment at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior. Due to current Covid-19 restrictions Funeral Service is invite only for close family and friends. Extended family and friends are invited to join us on their electronic devices for the webcast. We would like to especially thank the medical team consisting of Dr. Susan Kurian, Dr. Catherine Greenough, Renfrew hospital dialysis team, Arnprior Regional Health and the University of Ottawa Heart Institute for the exceptional care that was given to our dad over the years.
