Obituary of James W. Armstrong

August 4, 1935 – December 9, 2021 With heavy hearts the family announces that James W. Armstrong passed away at the Arnprior Hospital with his family by his side on Thursday morning, December 9, 2021. He was 86. James was born and raised in Kinburn and well known in the community. He was a hard working farmer who often put others before himself. He was a devoted husband, father and friend with a big heart. In his spare time, you could always find James on the golf course. Predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Jessie Armstrong; his wife Emily (nee Spratt), and daughter Jackie. James is survived by 4 children: Ian (Jennifer), Lyle (Jennifer), Kathie Armstrong (John Grainger), and Christopher (Amanda) as well as 9 grandchildren: Greg, Ben, Cole, Emily, Gavin, Adrian, Alana, Bryce, and Jackie. Also survived by his partner Marlene Lavalee and step-children Grant, Carol, Neil, and Judy. Dear brother of Henry (Shirley) Armstrong. James will be missed by many other family and friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Wednedsay, December 15th from 5 to 8 pm. only. A private family service will be webcast live from the Pilon Family Chapel on Thursday morning, December 16th at 11 o’clock. Private interment St. Mark’s Cemetery, Pakenham. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Arnprior Hospital for taking such good care of James. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or St. John’s Anglican Church, Antrim.
