Obituary of Ed Szkarlat

With saddened hearts the family announces the passing of their dear brother Edward. Born in Kiel, Germany, the son of the late Wladyslaw (Wally) and Frieda Szkarlat. Edward will be dearly missed by his siblings: Robert (Diana) of Carleton Place, Elsa Scott (the late Robert) of Arnprior, Henry (Brenda Carter) of Fitzroy Harbour, Barbara and Irene Sauvé (Paul) of Arnprior. Also missed by his many nieces and nephews: Nicholas Szkarlat, Colin Szkarlat, Katrina Szkarlat (Tom Graham), Jonathan Scott, Ryan Szkarlat (Michelle), Kayla Szkarlat, Heather, Donny Jr., Brianna McNulty (Ryan), and Nychelle McGrath (Sheldon); and great-nieces and nephews Connor and Liam McNulty, Paisley and Ava McGrath, Payton, Camden and Ryker Szkarlat, Skyler and Riley Leroux, and Olivia and Jack Graham. Edward lived his entire life in Arnprior. He was a very kind-hearted man, always there to help family and friends. He had many talents that were only shared with those close to him – always drawing, carving, or tinkering to create that next idea – and if you were lucky he would gift one to you. He had a passion for all types of vehicles, and was the typical “back-yard mechanic” who could fix anything. In his younger years he was proud to be owner of his navy blue SS Chevelle quarter racer. Gone but never forgotten. Ed’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where a private family visitation and service will take place.
