Obituary of Don Mair
With heavy yet grateful hearts, the family announces that Donald finally earned his new wings and left us peacefully from the Grove Nursing Home, Arnprior with his devoted wife and best friend of almost 64 years Barbara (nee Smith) by his side in the early morning hours of Saturday, February 5, 2022. Donald Roderick Mair of Braeside was in his 91st year. Don is also survived by his 4 sons: Doug (Valerie), Greg (Laurie), Ian (Jayne Stoyles) and Todd (Julie) as well as 5 grandchildren: Tyler, Cassandra, Alexandra, Braeden and Kelsey. Predeceased by an infant daughter, Donna Lou. Forever loved and remembered by Shelley Mair. Son of the late Joseph Henry Mair and the late Annie Pearl Mumford. Don was also predeceased by his brother, Gordon Mair and his sister, Aileen “Lee” Collins. Don spent his life in the fascinating world of flight. He flew with the RCAF; was a commercial pilot and later an air traffic controller. He always excelled in his endeavors and took great pride in his accomplishments. Don’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where his Funeral Service will be webcast live from the Pilon Family Chapel on Thursday morning, February 10, 2022 at 11 o’clock.
