Joanne, Leslie and Ray: Your Mom was the best neighbor and friend to our family! We will miss her terribly! To me, she was a surrogate Mom in my last year of high school when I lived with “Mr and Mrs Morgan” when my folks lived in Brazil. Of course she kept me well fed with her amazing cooking but provided me with great comfort knowing how much I missed my parents. An indelible image is me watching TV in your old basement and your Mom bringing me pringles. There was an never ending supply! I am so sorry for your loss and am sending giant hugs to all of you!❤️

Helene was an enthusiastic member of our birthday club. During these lunches, we discovered that Helene was very well read and had strong opinions about the issues of the day. We were quite envious of her youthful appearance and sense of style. She was a gracious hostess and a wonderful cook. Nobody could compete with her array of Christmas cookies! She will be sadly missed. My deepest sympathies go out to her family members, of whom she was so proud.

Dear Lesley and Joanne. We are very sorry to hear of your mother’s passing. I have such wonderful memories of her. Your house was always so full of life! She was always so beautiful and stylish, including the photo with this obituary. She was talented, she was fun. I thought she was like a movie star, with that lovely French accent….sort of a Jackie Kennedy who made cookies for her children’s friends while reupholstering the living room, making dinner for 16 and volunteering for charities. How wonderful to know she was still doing many of the things she loved right until the end. Our thoughts are with you, your brother Ray, your extended families, her grandsons and her tremendous circle of friends. Loved her. Love you. Jane (Rogers) and Mark Tunney.

Your mother was one of the finest persons I ever met. My late wife Jean and I met Helene and Ron in 1960 in Montreal when I just joined Union Carbide. They took this young couple and their new baby son, Ken, under their wing and that was the beginning of a 60 year friendship. We relished the opportunities to dine with them over many years. Helene was a marvelous chef - a perfectionist if I've ever known one. We traveled to the UK and Italy and many other places. It was also so delightful and harmonious! She will now join my Jean in Heaven and talk about food, their husbands and families and legions of friends who adored your mother. God bless you all, Bob Faircloth Savannah, Georgia
