During my time as Director and President of Ottawa Winter Fair and Central Canada Exhibition I witnessed the notable ability of
Mr. Carss to breed show ring performance of his Holstein cattle. The consistent winning of his cattle over a number of years demonstrated this ability. As well at the same time his respect for the staff and volunteer directors of the show organizers was at all times highly appreciative. He truly set a premium model for all exhibitors to follow.
Sincere condolences to all his family and to all Holstein cattle breeders.
Sincerely Dwayne C. Acres

I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Bill. Many fond memories of going to the farm with Dad. Both Bill and Allan Boese were a big part in helping my Dad fulfil his dream. They lived for those Holstein’s. I am sure they have met up once again and discussing the fine art of Breeding only the best. My thoughts are with you all.

It was my pleasure to spend time at Mr. Carss’ house with Bill and Naydeen when I was visiting Barb. Barb often worried about Bill out in the tractor in all weather but she knew he was happiest there. Wishing him fair weather and contented cows and the rest he earned. With love, Gaynette Friesen (yes my name comes from cows)

Another good man that has passed, Uncle Bill will be now reunited with his siblings. At a young age you were to taught to work hard if your last name was Carss, never give and keep going till the end. This is truly the way I believe my Uncle lived his life!
There are lots of good memories to cherish as a family.
Our sincere condolences at this time.

Although Bill was not my Uncle, I called him “Uncle Bill”. He was in the Masonic Lodge with my Dad, and spoke fondly of their time together. His smile was contagious and I was always happy to see him. I will miss him. My sincere sympathy to all the Carss family. Uncle Bill worked hard for his entire life…… Rest In Peace.
