Obituary of Al Lunney

(Retired – Supervisor, Playtex) Peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Monday morning, April 4, 2022, Al Lunney passed away in his 91st year. Beloved husband of Marlyn (nee Savard). Treasured Dad of Colleen Sadler (Gord) and Maureen Hawel (Andrew). Special Grandpa of Chris Sadler (Kaytlin), Cailin Soucy (Joel), and Liam Hawel, and Great Grandpa of Payton, Bailey, Harrison and Forrester. Also survived by his sister-in-law Thelma Savard (late Ron). Al was predeceased by two children: Mary and Joanne, as well as siblings: Rita Nugent (late John), Clare McInnes (late Jack), Ed Lunney (Bev), Hugh (late Mary), Rev. William "Bill" Lunney, Jim Lunney (late Doris), Mgr. Leonard “Len” Lunney, Bernadette Lunney (late Bob Hilyer), Larry Lunney (Francine). Son of the late James and Mary (nee Ryan) Lunney. Also predeceased by his sisters-in-law: Lois Hudson (Jack) and June Robertson (David). He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews. Al’s passion for antique cars, music and most of all family brought him so much joy in life. Special thanks to the staff at the Arnprior Villa for their compassion and care over the last 5 years as well as the excellent treatment and support provided by the staff at the Arnprior Hospital. His care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. A Funeral Mass for Al will be celebrated in St. Peter Celestine Church in Pakenham on Saturday afternoon, April 9th at 1:30. Reception will follow. Spring interment Indian Hill Cemetery, Pakenham. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the St. Peter Celestine Church Restoration Fund.
