Obituary of Alvira Jones

(Lifelong White Lake resident)

 

With grateful hearts for a life well lived, the Jones family announces that their matriarch, Alvira Geneva Jones (nee Comba) passed away peacefully with grace and dignity in the comfort of her beloved home in White Lake on Saturday morning, May 21, 2022, She was in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Milo Jones. Dearly loved mother of Anna Sharpe (late Dick), John Jones (Maria), Lenard Jones (Heather), Marion Aposaga (Frank), Phyllis Jones and Emerson Jones (Jenny). Predeceased by a daughter, Shirley Jones as well as 2 sons: Mervin and Willard Jones. Much loved grandmother of Valerie Fitzgibbon, Tanya DeHaan (Brad), Christine Beneteau (Will) and Jason Jones (Danilee) and great-grandmother of Leah Fitzgibbon, Bailey DeHaan and Charlie Beneteau. The last surviving child of the late John and Bella Comba, Alvira was predeceased by siblings: Margaret Miller (late Clifford), Phyllis Fraser (late Andy), Hilda Jones, Russell Comba, Mary Szalay (Eddie), Thomas Comba (Betty) and Iris Robinson (late Willis). Her life began on the Bellamy Road. She never ventured far from home. Alvira and Milo eventually settled on the 4th Concession where they raised their own family. The very same home she passed away in on Saturday. A proud member of the White Lake Women’s Institute for many years, Alvira was always close by to offer a helping hand whenever it was needed. She will be missed. A private family visitation will take place at the Pilon  Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior on Wednesday, May 25th followed by a private graveside service and interment at the White Lake Community Cemetery. In Alvira’s memory, please consider a donation to the White Lake United Church.
