When your a kid, you just kind of live your life from one moment to the next. Not often does one stop to consider the impacts of the people around them. I was much the same in grade 9 when Tanner and I became friends. I was going from one moment to the next - in the world but not a part of the world. Truth be told, I was not a very good influence on Tanner, but Debbie and Peter welcomed me into there home with open arms and made me feel like part of the family. As I was just living in the world, her kindness and love she showed for her children, her community and all those that walked through her doors was imprinted in my mind. Now that I am a father, if I could ever get close to who Debbie was as a parent, I know I would be doing my job. I miss her cooking, losing to her at crib and movie nights watching our high basketball games Debbie would record on VHS. My path has taking me in a different direction than Tanner, far away from the home (well said in the service Peter) Debbie made in Arnprior. But now that I am no longer a kid; a 40 year old husband and father, I am better able to see the world and reflect upon it and my lived experiences. My path diverged in terms of both time and space, but the impact Debbie had on this young man will always be with me. I hope I can live up to being the role model she was in sport, in community, and in my home. Shannon, Peter, Tanner - I wish you all the love in the world that you need right now, as Debbie would have given for anyone else.

So sad to hear and disappointed that I just learned of Deb'd passing. I would have been at the service because to me, Deb had the ability to connect with people. My time with Deb will never be forgotten. The impact of a friend is measured, in part, by that fact that you can be far away and yet hold a precious respect, kindness and presence towards that friend. Deb and Peter shared their love of family and I can only image the lost felt by each member of that loving family. I recall the pride that Deb always had when speaking of her family. Deb graciously allowed me some amazing memories of being friends...rest in almighty peace.

My dear friend - so many treasured memories- we shared so much from the first time I meet your Mom and when you came to the door to take Darcy and Hope to the park for a swim. So many great years including family, my son being in yours and Peter's wedding, the love of sports, especially fastball, both as coaches and teammates, and so much more. And then in your later years loved that we got to share pictures and videos of our grandchildren - rest in peace Debbie Love Liz, Hope, Darcy and families. xoxo

I taught Debbie, in Grade 2. I can , still, remember her beautiful, blue eyes. She was a quiet, thoughtful little girl. Although, very sad to read about her passing, I can see the big smile on her mom. They were , always, together.

Sincere condolences to Peter and family.
Debra was a fantastic softball pitcher and team mate whom I had the privilege to be on the same team for several years.
Although I was new to Braeside, Debra always made me feel welcome and part of a great team.

Deb was an amazing woman who loved her family so very much. She was such a kind and genuine person, instantly making you feel comfortable as if you’d know her for years. She helped John and I out so much after we were outsourced from Nortel with her knowledge and guidance, we never second guessed if we were in good hands. I remember once she came to the house and brought Tanner, her celebrity son whom she was so very proud. Tanner signed a baseball for my son, which we still have. Deb will be missed but her memory will live on. RIP Deb ❤️ Hugs to all the family.

I only met Deb three times in my life, but that was enough to create a lasting memory of a very friendly person with a good sense of humor.
The first time was at Xmas 1977, when I was celebrating Xmas in Arnprior with Peter’s parents, my aunt Doris and Uncle Harry, and my cousins Peter and Darlene. Deb and Peter were just dating then. I remember her that Xmas day as a beautiful young woman who was quiet but very friendly.
The second time was when I brought the new university graduate son of my cousin Peter in New Zealand to visit his relatives for the first time in Canada, before he traveled across country on his own to visit us in California. Paul and I spent a very enjoyable afternoon with Deb and Peter in Arnprior and what had the potential for a socially awkward event among virtual strangers produced plenty of laughter, thanks to Deb and Peter.
Many years later, my wife and I visited Deb & Peter after they had relocated to Arizona. In the intervening years she had faced numerous health challenges, but Lori and I remember her laugh, what a great sense of humor she had and how she adored her beautiful young granddaughters Amélie and Ava. We could also see how much she appreciated having the support and deep love of a very special husband.
Deb has gone too soon and she will be missed.

While I never met Deb in person, through Peter and his love for her I knew her as a very special woman. She was, and continues to be, adored by Peter in a way that is felt deeply by his friends. Her loss created a void that can only be filled by continued memories and sharing of the many blessed experiences of joy she brought to the world. My deepest sympathies for the entire family. May our love for you help to also heal and fill that void.

Deepest heart felt condolences for your loss. While I never met Deb in person I know through my colleague Peter how deeply loved she was, is. I recall one occasion Peter took my call on speaker phone while Deb was in the car. I remember how kind she was, we spoke about my children and she asked questions about them like we knew each other well. She was warm and kind. May your memory live on through your family and may you Rest In Peace, Deb. Hugs to all of you.
