Obituary of Lionel "Pete" Fachnie

“ PETE “  LIONEL G. FACHNIE

DECEMBER 22, 1930 – JULY 03, 2022

Passing peacefully at home in Arnprior with wife Beth, daughter Claire and friend Brenda by his side. Pete was predeceased by wives Kathleen and Callista, beloved sons Kirk (Catheren), Steve, infant daughter Mary, great grandson Elgin, beloved brother John (Sheila) and sister Patricia (Richard). He is survived by his beloved wife Beth Wolfe, sisters Marion (Lorne), Jane (George) and many nieces and nephews. Pete will be dearly missed by his daughter Claire (Byron), granddaughters; Julia (Trevor), Victoria (Hamish), Tana (Pat), Lyndsay (Francis), and Brenna (Richard) along with 11 great grandchildren and members of the Wolfe family. Pete was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force. He served across Canada and overseas with his family by his side, sharing and loving the experiences the journey brought. After retirement he stayed in touch with his buddies through the local Legion in Arnprior, and with taps playing and flags waving one last time we can picture him executing a final salute to his comrades. Flags now fly at half mast over Pete’s little piece of paradise at White Lake, home to so many memories with family, friends and terrific “Lake” neighbours. Pete was always there to help others, and our family would like to thank all of you for stepping up to help him, especially these last few years. We look forward to sharing all the colourful stories again someday soon.

Pete's care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will take place on Friday afternoon, July 22nd from 1 - 2. A Tribute will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 2 o'clock. If you are wishing to make a donation in Pete's memory, please consider the "Ride for Dad" Prostate Cancer Fight Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 174, Arnprior.
