I want to start by sharing my most heartfelt condolences to all of Lenny's family and friends.
I was so honoured and blessed to have had Lenny as a friend for almost 40 years. We experienced the good, the bad, and the ugly together and we always managed to get through it, sometimes with laughs and sometimes with tears. Though we lived in different provinces later in life, our friendship only grew stronger over the years.
Lenny was a generous soul. Whether he had ten cents or ten thousand dollars in his pocket, he was always the same person, treating everyone he met with respect, dignity, and compassion. In good times, Lenny always shared what he had, and in the not-so-good times, he more than made up for it by lending a helping hand. He actually stayed with me during some of those not-so-good times. I remember coming home from work and the house would be spotless, the laundry washed and put away, and supper waiting on the stove. I think I may have gotten the better deal on these occasions! Lenny had a great ear for music—he loved all music, and he was so smart, funny, and caring. He could spin a story like no one else I’ve ever known.
One thing I’ve always been sure of over the years is how much he loved his children. Roxanne and Trevor, he loved you so much, and then the blessing of grandchildren was the icing on the cake of his life. Every conversation I ever had with Lenny, he spoke of you with such overwhelming love. He didn't always know how to show it, but he always felt it. This I KNOW.
I think Heaven is a little more colourful now with Lenny’s presence. Down here on Earth he will be truly missed, always loved, and never forgotten.
To Lenny’s sister Mary, thank you so much for always being there when he needed you.
Rest In Peace Lenny.
You friend forever,
Wanda Huszar and family.
