Obituary of Paddy McCann

(Retired – City of Ottawa)

 

With great sadness the McCann family announces that Paddy passed away at the Ottawa General Hospital while surrounded by loved ones on Sunday afternoon, September 18, 2022. Patrick Liston “Paddy” McCann of Kanata; formerly of Constance Bay was 89. Beloved husband for over 64 years of Helen (nee Bray). Much loved and devoted father and Patriarch of Darlene Vance (David) and Donna Kettles (Bruce), Judy Currie, Jim Holly (Valerie Brousseau) and the late Brenda Holly. Cherished and proud Bumpa of 3 grandchildren: Clayton Vance (Jessica), Jackson Vance (Blair) and Loni Vance. And 4 great-grandchildren: Paddy, Nora, Austin and Maxwell. Dear brother of Patricia Heidenreich (late Hans). Son of the late Lawrence and Vennetta McCann, Paddy was also predeceased by 2 sisters: Margaret Holly (late Bernard) and Joan Crate (late Art). Lovingly remembered by the Bray family. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and good friends. Paddy’s final care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will be held on Friday, September 23rd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Holy Redeemer Church, 44 Rothesay Drive, Kanata on Saturday morning, September 24th at 11 o’clock. In true Paddy style, everyone is invited to join the family for lunch in the Parish Hall at 12 noon. In his memory, please consider a donation to the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 616, Constance Bay or the Canadian Cancer Society.
