Obituary of Sharron O'Neill

(nee Savard)

November 13, 1947 - November 7, 2022

Sharron Lynne O’Neill (nee Savard) of Kinburn died peacefully, surrounded by her family, at the Ottawa General Hospital on Monday evening, November 7, 2022. Loved wife and best friend of John for over 46 years. Beloved Mom of Ryan (Angei) and Erin and Nanny of Ryden. Cherished sister of Carol (John) Gilmette and Kathy (late Lorne) McMahon. Devoted niece of Gracie L'Abbe. Special sister-in-law of Margaret and Dave Thomas. One and only Aunt Sharron of Michael (Darcie), Peter (Kari) and Matthew Thomas, Mary Catherine (Dan) Allatt, Jacqueline (Stephen) Koch, Travis (Lisa) Gilmette and Matthew MacMillan (Cindy). Pre-deceased by her parents Nick and Hazel Savard.

Sharron and her husband John operated school buses for over 30 years where Sharron was affectionately known as Mrs. ‘O’. In addition to the buses, Sharron was the backbone of O’Neill’s Auctions. Upon her retirement, Sharron volunteered at the Arnprior & District Memorial Hospital for over five years, which she enjoyed tremendously. Sharron loved gardening, shopping, cutting her grass, and regularly helping John in the hay field. An amazing wife, mother, sister, friend and neighbour; she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A special thank you to the staff of the 6th floor Hematology Unit at the Ottawa General Hospital for their care and compassion over the last number of weeks.

Sharron’s care has been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior where visitation will take place on Sunday, November 13th from 2-4 and 7-9, as well as Monday morning, November 14th from 9-10. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 o’clock on Monday morning at St. Peter Celestine Church, Pakenham. Interment St. Peter Celestine Parish Cemetery, Indian Hill Road, Cemetery, Pakenham.
