Obituary of Blake Pierce

(Retired – Ontario Power Generation)

With heaviest of hearts and great sadness, the Pierce family regretfully inform you that on Friday evening, February 3, 2023, Blake passed away peacefully in the arms of his wife Debbie and surrounded by his loving family who have accompanied him through his valiant and courageous battle with cancer and a stem cell transplant from day one until the very end. He was only 69.

Blake was a beloved husband to Deb for over 50 years; a devoted and loving Dad to his children: Stephanie McIntyre (Pat), Derek (Carrie Ann) and Chris (Ashley) and a doting and very proud Poppy to Lily, Tate, Tyson, Jaxson, Anderson, Marlowe and Bodhi. Son of the late Don and June Pierce (nee Carmichael). Much loved brother of Brent and Mary and their sons Jason (Matthew), Kevin and John (Tim). Dear brother-in-law of Paul and Wendy Robillard and their children Chad and Jenna; Leanne and Terry Krieger and their children: Mitchell (Lindsey) and Danah; Nicole and Kevin Murray and their children Cole (Bri) and Cassidy. Special nephew of Lloyd and Nelly Carmichael, Betty and Manfred Koch, Doug and Geraldine Pierce and their families.

A loyal employee of Ontario Hydro and OPG for over 37 years, Blake retired December 12, 2012 (12-12-12) He then went on to become a project manager with M. Sullivan & Sons, Arnprior until his final retirement. To Blake, family was everything. Spending time with his family and friends at home or at the Cottage in Rhoddy’s Bay meant the world to him. Golf, skiing and more recently home renovations were some of the interest that filled his spare time. He excelled at everything he put his mind to. Gone far too soon. He will be missed.

Blake’s final care has been entrusted to the
