Obituary of Betty Nesbitt

On Friday, March 3, 2023, Betty Johnson Nesbitt passed away peacefully at The Grove Nursing Home in Arnprior and went on to join her husband John, the love of her life who passed away in 1994.

The last surviving child of the late Albert and Jean Shouldice, Betty was also predeceased by siblings: Ross Shouldice (Jeanette), her twin brother Beverly Shouldice (late Ruby) and her sister, Dorothy Boyes (late Barry).

Lovingly remembered by her niece, Mary Greer (Gary) whom she always considered as her daughter; Mary’s daughters, Jodi (Mike) and Meagan (Brian) and Jodi’s son, Bryce whom she called “My Pet”.

Betty is also survived by other nieces, nephews and extended family. Special thanks to caregivers and wonderful friends Sandy, Aileen, Colleen and the many Homecare providers who made it possible for Betty to remain independent and in her own home for so long. Heartfelt thanks and gratitude are extended to Gail and the late Jack Cameron who willingly shared their love, kindness and loyal friendship with Betty for decades.

Their Antrim Truck Stop on Old Highway 17 was like a second home for John and Betty for many years.
