Obituary of Larry "Bun" Pouliot

(Retired Boeing Arnprior after 33 years)

While the sun was setting on Saturday evening, March 11, 2023, the Detroit Reds Wings lost one of their biggest all time fans.

Bun passed away following a lengthy illness with his loving and devoted sister Anita by his side. He was 74.

He is survived by his sister, Anita Robillard (and her husband Barry) of Pakenham. Bun was recently predeceased by his sister, Lori McGee (Ron of Renfrew).

Loving and special uncle of Lauren Buckley (Andy), Sarah Mujkic (Ahmet), Paul McGee (Nancy) and Jeffrey McGee; Great-uncle of Thomas, Anna and Rose Buckley, Nya and Jaxson Mujkic, Emily, Abigail and Jordan McGee.

Forever best friend of his feline buddy Keegan.

Son of the late Lorne and Ethel Pouliot. Lovingly remembered by his close fellow residents at Island View Suites in Arnprior as well as his many friends far and wide.

The family wish to extend special and heartfelt thanks and appreciation to PSW Shannon Hewitt who became a wonderful friend to Bun and provided him with exceptional care over the past couple years. Your efforts will never be forgotten.

Bun enjoyed life. His work at Boeing Arnprior was complimented by the many fellow employees he loved to call friends. Arnprior was always home to Bun. He loved to banter with friends and acquaintances while either riding his bicycle around town for many years and later cruising on his 4 wheeled scooter following a debilitating stroke he suffered in 2016. In spite of his loss of mobility, Bun managed to stay in touch with friends as long as he could. More recently he adopted social media (Facebook) as his way of communicating. Sharp, funny, loyal and jokester are but a few words that best describe Bun. He will be missed.

His final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior

where visitation was held on Wednesday evening, March 15th from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning, March 16th from 10 to10:45 a.m.

A Service to honour and remember Bun followed in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock. A luncheon was held with interment at the Malloch Road Cemetery afterward.

In memory of Bun, please consider a donation to the Arnprior Humane Society.
