I thought if I pushed hard enough this sadness would leave me and if I waited long enough the pain of losing Dave would lessen. I remember saying these words to Dave about Ian Wyllie when we lost him. Dave said that we will never forget the closet-full of fond memories Ian left for us. We were often together at boating events near and far. He was such a generous man. Ten years ago he gave his beautiful classic I/O, Fools Gold, to my son-in-law Dale, much to our amazement because, said Dave, “Dale can take good care of her and he is a worthy recipient”. I guess I will have an abundance of memories to relive with my wife about Dave. She and Dave were the team who put together the Brass Binnacle throughout the past dozen or so years. My sincere condolences to Greg and Doug and the many more people who must learn to live without Dave’s guidance. Bless you all.
