Karl-Heinz Weiler, my Daddy took his last breath at 4:07 pm Thursday, May 12th. I, Renée was given the last earthly gift that he could give me, I was by his side when he passed away very peacefully.
Caitlin (granddaughter) will be 25 years gone; Harry (son) is now gone 2 and a half years; Mommy (Edith) 1 and a half years and now my Daddy.
His only surviving brother is Willy, (Faye) Weiler. Grandchildren are Andy, (Rebecca) and Jason Stewart. Great-grandchildren are Ella, Abby and Kai.
Heinz came to Canada in 1954 with only $29.00 and the money he borrowed from his grandfather for the passage to Canada.
He spoke Neither english nor french and had no family support. The first two years were rough.
Daddy met the love of his life, Edith and they were married in 1957.
They had two children Renée and the late Harry.
Daddy joined the Canadian Army in 1960, making it to Chief Warrant Officer. He retired in 1990.
Both my parents loved to travel and through the postings, they saw all of Canada and Europe.
After retirement, they travelled all over the Caribbean however they loved Cuba the most.
While Daddy had prostate cancer, my mother, died of Alzheimer's.
I looked after both Mom and Dad with great dedication to their end.
There are many fond memories and Heinz had a wonderful life.
Till we all met again.
