Obituary of Moe Lacasse
1946 - 2023
(Retired BASF, Arnprior after 35 years)
Following a lengthy and courageous journey, Moe passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital with loved ones by his side in the early hours of Monday, June 19, 2023.
He was 77 years of age.
Beloved and devoted husband and best friend for over 25 years of Dianne Martin. Much loved Dad of Corey Rulens (Melissa) and Amanda Rulens (Kyle Davis).
Proud Grandpa of Austin, Ayden and Savana, Mariah, Alyssa, Lexas, Mason and Addisyn. Dearest brother of Robert “Bob” Lacasse (Kathy) and uncle of Heidi Lacasse (Dave Moszynski) and Nathan Lacasse (Beck O’Donnell). Special brother-in-law of Lorraine Martin, Tom Martin (Cindy) and Art Martin (Jennifer Higginson). Also survived by nieces, nephews and many good friends.
Moe’s early years were spent travelling and living in many places across Canada and abroad with his father’s medical military career. He belonged to several different clubs back then including motorcycle, hobby and even a model airplane club where he built remote controlled aircraft, some with wings spans of 6 feet. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Though he excelled in his work career, he also loved small engine repairs. His beloved garage was always full of one thing or another to fix. Many in this town can attest to Moe’s amazing ability to fix anything that seemed beyond repair and at a very fair price. Outside of his garage, Moe was happiest spending time with family and friends at his camp near Shamrock, On. His memory will be cherished by those who knew him.
Sincere thanks to Gerry Surprenant for all he did to help prepare for Moe’s “homecoming” following his stroke and his continued care and friendship to this day. Special thanks to Dr. Rivington and Dr. Greenough as well as the nurses at ADMH who cared for Moe in his final days. Your kindness and compassion were overwhelming.
Moe’s final care has been entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where friends may support the family during visitation on Thursday evening, June 29th from 6 to 8 p.m.
In Moe’s memory, please consider a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario.
