Obituary of Libbie Eastman

(nee Scheel)

Libbie passed away peacefully at Orchard View in Almonte on Tuesday evening, July 25, 2023. She was in her 86^th year.

Beloved wife of Glenn for almost 63 years. Loved mother of Carolyn Styles of Arnprior and David Eastman (Wendy) of Guelph. Cherished and proud Grandma of Melanie Styles (Simon LeBreton), Megan Styles and Sam Eastman and Great-Grandma of Calvin and Emma LeBreton. Dear sister of Ruby Hammond of Shawville, and sister-in-law of Erma Stewart of Toronto, Lois Merriman (Mark) of Orléans, Margaret Bahm (late Alan) of Arnprior and Vera Wiseman (late Ted) of Carp. Predeceased by her brother Doug. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Daughter of the late Gordon and Jean (nee Cunningham) Scheel.

Libbie spent many years as a teacher at both Elmvale Public School in Ottawa and Walter Zadow Elementary School, Arnprior. She was a devoted farm wife, exceptional cook, seamstress and gardener. She was 4H leader for many years teaching and passing along these skills.

The family would like to thank the staff of Orchard View by the Mississippi and Bayshore Health Care for the wonderful care and compassion over the past five years as her Alzheimer’s progressed.

Libbie’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel. Ltd., 50 John Street North Arnprior

where visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, August 23^rd from 7 to 9 p.m. and again on Thursday morning, August 24^th from 9:30 to 10:30.

A Funeral Service will be conducted in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock followed by a reception in the Pilon Family Reception Centre.

For those who wish, a donation in Libbie’s memory may be made to Almonte Hospital, Lanark Leeds Grenville Alzheimer’s Society or a charity of your choice.
