Obituary of Gisèle Amyotte

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Gisèle “Odette” Amyotte, age 84, on Monday, August 21st, 2023

at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital.

She was surrounded by the thoughts and love of her family in her final moments.

Gisèle is now with her husband Paul Amyotte in heaven.

She will always be remembered fondly by her brother Gérald Duchesne and children Denis (Dolly) Amyotte , Rick (Karen) Amyotte, Joceline Amyotte and Lisa (Donald) Lawson. As well as her grandchildren Adam, Erin, Luc, Jennifer, and Nicolle.

Gisèle was born in Bonfield, Ontario to parents Aimé and Alice (née Foisy) Duchesne.

She was predeceased by her brothers, Yvon and Jean-Guy Duchesne.

Gisèle and Paul moved to Wawa, Ontario in 1956, where they raised their children.

She was a true French-Canadian woman. She could make the most delicious recipes that brought her entire family together.

Her specialities included cipâte, tourtières, perogies and eggrolls. There was never an empty belly in her home.

She loved playing bingo, making puzzles, and picking blueberries.

She will be remembered as a wonderful mom and amazing grandma.

The love she shared will be in our hearts forever.

Private arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior.

Her final wish to be buried together with her late husband Paul in Bonfield will be carried by her family at a later date.
