With extreme sadness and broken hearts, the family announces that Tim “Tater” passed away suddenly but peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital with Tina by his side early Friday morning, November 3, 2023. He was 46 years of age. Beloved partner and best friend of Tina Rack. Dearly loved son of Robert and Nancy (nee Korfman) Tate. Much loved brother of Sarah Tate (Dave Perkins) and special uncle of Josh Tate (Megyn Coughlan), Zoe Lynn Egan, and McKenzie Perkins. Fondly remembered by Tina’s children, Kelsey (Roman), William (Cassandra) and Keri (Josh). Tim will be greatly missed by his “Brother from another Mother” Steve Gerro.
Tim was a passionate man who loved his family and friends more than anything. He always persevered no matter the hand he was dealt. He was a gift to his parents and they were blessed with his humour and his love for 46 years right to the end. He was a joker, had many crazy stories about work, football and his travels. He made and had many friends and considered everyone family. If you knew Tim, he wore his heart on his sleeve. He was a son, brother, uncle, mentor, athlete, coach, friend and life-partner. He might have been tough as a coach but he was very much respected and made an impact on many athletes. Tim was an avid pet lover and he fostered many dogs, cats and horses over the years that he spent in Alberta. He will be missed by many including his Alberta family.
Tim’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior. Family and friends are invited to the Arnprior Legion Branch 174, 49 Daniel Street North for an informal Celebration of Life to be held on Tuesday, November 14th from 3-7 p.m. Guests are invited to wear their favourite sports jersey. If not available, you can dress in Sooners colours (black, white and orange) or Seahawks colours.
In his memory, please consider a donation to the Arnprior-Braeside-McNab Seniors at Home Program, the British Columbia Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (BCSPCA) or the Canadian Tire Jumpstart Program.
