Well bud.... I guess I am the last man standing.... you and Warren save me a spot in your boat up there and leave some of the big fish for when I get there..... due to your health it was awhile we hadn't fished but we missed your company.... sssooo many good times over all those years together..... "Nuns Island" and not just for fishing..... up at Lac Rouge on your first trip up when you put on an old classic red devil and I said "what the hell you putting that on for they don't work up here" and naturally just to prove me wrong you catch a 12 lb northern on your first cast..... the three of us had so many good times up here.... laughed so hard .... caught so many nice fish even when we got drenched in the rain....great food...fish fries up at Don's etc...etc...etc See you down the road bud.... I will toss a Rye/ginger "a la Gordie" with you in mind (as Bobby/s sons use to call them)...thinking of you...

I went to college with Gord. We were a dynamic duel for a while. I always counted him as a close friend and he was great at making sure we stayed in touch. My condolence to Amber and Kristle as well as all his family and friends. He touched many lives and will be missed! I have many great memories of Gord and the girls. He was 1 in a million!

My deepest condolences to Mrs. Goudie, Gary, Glenn, Amber and Crystal. Gord loved you all and talked dearly of his family. From our time together in Boys Brigade, to fishing trips in Bowman or chats on the phone, Gord loved life. Gord was proud of being a Point boy and always had a chuckle in his voice. Gord will be missed and may he rest in peace.

Our deepest condolences to Gord’s family and closest friend (Dave Hurtubise). We reconnected a few years back through Facebook and that lead us to exchanging telephone numbers. Our telephone chats were always about our growing up in Point St. Charles and Gord’s time in the Boys Brigade, his fishing trips with his buddies. We had some great laughs. He talked about his daughters and grandchildren and how his Mom was still living in Howick. RIP Gord, we will miss our monthly chats.

My cousin Gordie was a gentle, sweet, loving man. We were more than cousins, we were friends. I loved him and he loved me. I cannot believe how ill he became and we touched base often through the years. He loved his family Amber and Chrystal, and his beautiful grandchildren. He and I were always in awe of my Auntie Kay, her sharp memory, her love of her family and of me.
I will miss you so much and I know we will meet again because we both believed in God and that we would.
I wish my cousins Gary and Glenn would reach out to me, and love me the way Gordie did, please.
Amber and Chrystal. I am here for you. I never met you, but you are loved and you are family

My best wishes and condolences to Gord’s family and friends.
I met Gord at John Abbott CEGEP in 1971 or 72 and was impressed with his passion and vitality. One night after an Alice Cooper show, Gord drop by my room and gave me and my friends, a vivid scene-by-scene description of the entire show. I really felt like I’d been there, coloured lights and all (portrayed by Gord standing on a bed and shining the vivid colours down on us from hand’s raised high above his head.
As I recall from the 1970s, Gord was also generous and caring to his friends. When I travel to West, on my way to Kitimat to look for work., I (and various others from John Abbott) stayed with him and his friends on West Second Avenue: no furniture, but lots of warmth, friendship, and shared food, not to mention memorable trips to the
Planetarium. I’m very grateful to have reconnected with Gord many years later. When we spoke on the phone, it was clear how proud he was of his family, and how much he loved them. The worlds a little dimmer today. But I’m confident that it will brighten again when remembering Gord.

I'm glad that in recent years we were able to touch base on occasion. In the early 70s we hung out near daily and most of our adventures were of another space and time(less). Those were pivotal days old friend and now your energy has returned to the source. Good times and good memories and fitting to support the local food bank. Condolences to the Goudie family.

I am deeply saddened that my longtime friend Gord departed this world. We were close friends for almost 50 years. He had a wonderful sense of humour, was a great story teller and "shenaniganator", and he had a huge heart and great affinity for the very best of music. In his time, he moved all across Canada, worked at several different and challenging jobs, and had a family. He was always kind to me, my friends and my children and was very much the kind of big guy you just wanted to party with and have on your side.
Although we met in the West Island of Montreal in our late teenage years, my favourite memory of my time with him was while we both lived in Calgary, Alberta in the early 1980s. By then, we were already 'old friends'. One Winter's evening at his house, we listened to Simon & Garfunkel's 'Book Ends' album, which features a great song called "Old Friends", some Procol Harum, J. Geils Band and lots of other great tunes, while imbibing good 'Single Malt' Scotch.
The next morning we tobogganed on the hill in front of his house where we scared all the kids off the hill. I can vividly picture us that cold and crispy, yet sunny winter morning, sporting our green 'army surplus' parkas, toques and big 'Sorel' boots; Two large, long-haired, wild-eyed, bearded "hosers", 'bombing' down the long hill behind the school just across the street from his house yelling "LOOKOUT BELOW!!!" They did. And as we made more runs down the hill, all the smaller kids departed...
Goodbye "Hose-head", Chumley, Gord... I'll miss ya, you big lug!
