Obituary of Brian Gelineau
Suddenly but peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Sunday evening (Christmas Eve), December 24, 2023 at the age of 80 years.
Brian Gerald Gelineau, son of the late Jacqueline “Jackie” (nee Thibodeau) Gelineau and the late Gerald Gelineau. Youngest brother of the late Beverley Gelineau and Bernard Gelineau of Kingston. Very proud uncle of Tara Green of Victoria, B.C. and Jason Gelineau of Perth, Australia.
An Arnprior native born and bred, Brian started his successful banking career with the Bank of Nova Scotia in March 1968 as a trainee at the John Street Branch. Brian was loyal to Scotiabank and truly loved his job which took him throughout the Caribbean over a 30 year period, finally retiring as Vice President of Credit for Banco Inverlat (a Scotiabank subsidiary) in 2004 in Mexico. In his retirement, he returned to his hometown to enjoy the tranquility of “The Prior” and be close to longtime friends.
Brian's other loves were golf and his cigars. He was known to tear up (literally) the greens at the Arnprior District Golf Course and enjoy his cigars on his regular walks and drives around town.
He held a lifetime honorary membership with the Knights of Columbus.
Brian was a generous supporter of his family and charities that were dear to his heart. In his retirement he spent his winters at his condo in Clearwater, Florida which gave him a lot of enjoyment, particularly that he got to miss Arnprior winters.
Brian’s final care has been entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., 50 John Street North, Arnprior
where visitation was held on Friday, January 5, 2024 from 9:30 to 10:30 followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church, Arnprior at 11 o’clock.

A reception took place in the Pilon Family Reception Centre.
